Big travel in the Gobi

So I have done a 10 days travel in the Gobi, which is a desert but with only 3% sand, the rest is… well stone and nothing!
So on the first stop there was water and of course all possible animals, especially horses, so beautiful in Mongolia!
That was a little girl in a ger, I found her so cute!
I am sorry that I don't remember the name but this was our first stop, very nice mountains.
So I travelled in this Russian car with 2 other tourists, one guide, one apprentice guide and one driver.
The rad in Mongolia are very bumpy and really really bad, so this kind of car is really great!
For the first night we slept by a family in this ger, all of us, it was not cold!
but before that we had some soutetse (the mongolian milk tea), prepared by Laama, the apprentice guide!
and of course some mongolian sweats: milk tea, milk cream and some boortsog, Mongolian cookies!
this is the view from where we were, great no?
After we went to an abandon Buddhist  monastery
with the Khadag, the scarf that the mongolian put there
Gobi even if this is a desert is full of animals, mainly goat and camels.
This was by the next family were we were staying. That night we slept in a tent, we 3 tourist. And in the middle of the night I heard a wolf and then a big dog coming from nowhere barking all night! I was scared all night but the boys were sleeping, why do we need them right?
Next day the family told us that one of their goat was killed by a wolf! Yes I know!!!!!! Thanks to the big dog that has defended us!!!!!!!
This is also an abandoned monastery, called the monastery without roof, I think :-)
And this is a not abandoned monastery, but the monks (lama in mongolian) are not there for the moment!
After that we went to the white stupa, just fantastic mountains, pink, white, red!
I loved it there it was so beautiful!
That's a panoramic view! And on the top some mongolian offered us vodka, youpi!!!!!!
The next family we stayed with was having camels, a bay one sone cute!
and of course they milk the camels, we drink the milk or they dry it into arul. They also eat the meat. All of this very good I have to say!
That night we had a tourist ger!
So I am cheating for me no sleeping on the floor that night (By the way this is Tony one tourist)
But sleeping on the bed! What a luxus!
Talking about that in 10 days only 1 shower! Well this is Gobi desert what do you expect?????
Next day visit from Yolim am!
There we have seen some wild sheep, so confident in the mountains, incredible
and a glacier, but tend to disappear in the summer time!
and these cute mice/rabbit!
I managed to take a picture, I am so good!!!!
That was our camping place!
We tried to make a fire but there was too much wind, well next time!!!!
Ouh that's a very small road!!!!
And of course you don't travel in Mongolia without any problem!
But we had a good driver!!!!
And this is Khongoriin els, the sand dune!
Finally sand! Very very big!

We stayed there by a family, this is one of  the boy taking us to the sand dune.
and I admit some of us made it only to half the dune, but still very pretty!
And then, oh yeah some camel ride!
I let you appreciate how good I am!
This is a big animal sorry!
So pretty right?
And now the scary part, yes up and down!

Finish, pause for the picture!
and then hold the amp very strong, the thing is really big!!!!!
This is some view during our camel tour!
This is a great tour because camels are very slow, this is very nice!
After that some milking of goat, I am pretty good I have to say!
But I don't hold very long!!!!
Then direction the flaming cliff, some red mountains where dinosaur eggs were discovered, but nothing to see now ...
Here there is sand and I even saw a fox, that looks like a big rabbit!
Seems that all the animals here are crossed with rabbit!
Last night we stayed by a sacred mountain.
Here you can see a horse descending the mountain, so mongolian people come here before the naadam.
And we were so lucky that we could see a shaman ceremony.
These were 2 women and the spirit was old man living here before.
That was very nice of them to let us watch the ceremony.
And the video is showing how they come in trance and they speak with the spirit.

Well I have to say that trip in the Gobi was really great! Despite the fact that this is a desert you have many things to see. Staying by families is great, you can drink a lot of milk tea, eat yogurt  and milk cream!
The only thing is you want to go: the road are terrible so be prepared!

Zanabasar Museum

Ok my last days in UB because now I am in Japan!
I like this street art...
this one too actually, but the goal was the Zanabasar museum
he is considered as a national treasure, since he has contributed a lot to mongolian art among other things.

In the museum you can see some of his work art.
I really like these buddhas!
And that's the man itself!
The museum is new and very big with many different kind of art

this one is a bit scarry
but I let you enjoy the tantric part!
also from the side!
he has also invented the Soyembo alphabet.
The first letter is actually in the mongolian flag.
Except that that alphabet is not used.
and this is my favorite god, the blue one!
and a very big representation of a god!
really enjoy that museum, hope they will put more art pieces and then I will go again!
