Since I have started with food I continue
I bought myself some comfort food as they said :-)
Some pringles, not had in ages, some chocolate cereals and some buuz
What a feast dinner!!!!

And food again … good that I make sport!!!

Today I have received a big box of chocolate from Solongo to whom I teach english
So nice!
And of course the name is Merci!!!

And again!!!

Today was still the marketing event, so I treat myself again :-)
A sandwich, a cake and a drink, which flavor???
Not sure… but all very delicious
Good that this is stopping today otherwise I will get fat…
Although...

It was snowing this morning so I need more energy to fight!

There is a marketing event at school with a lot of food everywhere, so I treated myself with a great cake!!!

And outside there is a storm dust like crazy, the sky is all white and we can not see very far, terrrrible…..

But I have a cake so I am fine :-)

And I was just offered some apple juice to go with it, so great!!!!!!

KFC

We now have KFC in Mongolia, well since a few months actually!
I have been 3 times I think to have some chicken, we need different food sometimes :-)

And last time I was walking past it and what did I see????
Egg tarts, aka pasteis de nata!
My favorite cake from Portugal!!!

I couldn't resist to buy it (even if this is expensive)
They were warm and delicious, but not as good as the one in Portugal
But still :-)

the perfect day for the horse air ceremony!!!

Last Saturday was the day, according to the official calendar, for the horse air ceremony.
First you buy some flags. The green one is the one for my year: meaning the rabbit year, it has an horse air, my name and age on it.
This is to have everything good (health, money, family, …)
The 2nd flag is common for everybody this is to chase the demons away.
You buy it at a religious store

Then you have to put your banner to an high point in order to have your horse air flying!
So we went to a mountain near UB

And there, there is still snow (it was snowing last week)!

And how surprise, there was Violet Pulsatilla vulgaris also called forget easter lilies, which are flowers growing in the snow and particularly during easter!

There was so many of them, so nice!!!!

Then we put our banner in this ovo, or near it in order to have the horse air flying and to have a great year!

Of course there is a ceremony there, you pray to tell your wishes, you offer rice, milk and vodka.
And we were very lucky because the owner of the ovo (a crow) came right after the ceremony, this will be even more a better year!

Then another mongolian tradition is to eat 7 of these flowers, after that you won't get throat sickness the next winter, which is actually a plus in Mongolia, because winters are very hard and I am always sick…
So we will see!!!

About the taste, this is very spicy !!!! Burning everything inside
Actually this flower is an antiseptic used in traditional medicine!

And as I said, there was snow there at the mountain :-)
Now I am sure this year will be great with no sickness!

a lunch at the ukrainian restaurant

There is a newly open Ukrainian restaurant, so I went there to try!

I like very much the style of the restaurant, they have done a great decoration's job!

This is typical food, pork fat you put on bread with mustard!

And this was my meal: sausages with eggs and rice on the side

and kind of ravioli/bangsch with cabbage and sour cream.
Really like it!
But the service was too long, so this was a one time experience!

Singer

This is a decoration for a singer shop in UB, I like it very much

And this is an original union (not singer but quite the same!) ! Quite old but still working very well! Ahhh the quality from old days!

KTMC's birthday

On Friday it was also the 30 years of my school

So they have organized some event, and actually there will be something 4 times!

There was some presentations

Music (by they way all the music, singing, dancing is performed by my students)

speech, there I understood nothing but clapped at the right time :-)

I was a nice evening with old students, but the older are coming in the following weeks, maybe I will go again!

My birthday

I have received a lot of messages for my birthday and my students have prepared me a surprise!
On the blackboard they have written happy birthday and draw a cake :-)

 They have also all sang happy birthday to me!

 It was a really great and nice surprise!
